CMP is a natural hub for rail freight. We are a part of the main railway line and a well developed logistics network. Our facilities in Malmö are simultaneously central elements in the European transport corridor which extends from Italy to Sweden. We handle both direct trains and intermodal services, with our capacity, flexibility and strategic location making us competitive.
Capacity – the combi-terminal in Norra Hamnen in Malmö has two separate 850 metre long tracks for loading and unloading. This enables us to handle several trains effectively at the same time.
Flexibility – we act quickly and can adapt the service at short notice if the customer’s requirements or the conditions suddenly change. This high level of flexibility characterises everything we do – technology, staffing and all other aspects of freight handling, ensuring a smooth service.
Strategic location – CMP is located at the heart of the Öresund region and on the threshold of the Baltic region with its approximately 100 million consumers. The well developed sea, road and rail routes enable us to handle freight which reaches all of Northern Europe in less than 24 hours.
Direct trains – capacity at several terminals
We receive direct trains at the terminals in Norra Hamnen. The daily departures give us capacity, but also a high level of availability in a rail service which encompasses new cars, wood products, paper and much more. Norra Hamnen is served by a direct shuttle with frequent departures to the Stockholm region. CMP is also linked to a large number of other train destinations throughout the Nordic region. Additionally, the customers are offered warehousing and storage areas.
Intermodal services – a complete logistics solution
Our intermodal services link together train, ship and lorry. Finnlines RoRo traffic makes CMP part of a major flow of imports and exports. It is based on three daily services between Travemünde and our terminal in Norra Hamnen. This terminal handles all kinds of transportation, and it guarantees that the Nordic market is reached in one day. This also applies to freight that is flown to Copenhagen international airport and passes through CMP before reaching its final destination.
