CMP is a Danish-Swedish joint venture. The shareholders in the holding companies reflects public and private interests.

CMP is a Swedish-registered limited liability company, Copenhagen Malmö Port AB, equally owned by CPH City & Port Development and Port of Malmö. Danish CPH City & Port Development is owned by the City of Copenhagen (55%) and the Danish State (45%). Swedish Malmö Port AB is owned by the City of Malmö (55%) and private investors (45%). CMP’s board is evenly composed of four members elected by Port of Malmö, four members elected by City & Port Development and four employee representatives; two from Denmark and two from Sweden.
 
CMP leases fixed plant such as quays, warehouses, buildings etc. from City & Port Development and Port of Malmö AB. The annual lease is based upon the cost of existing facilities and the cost of investment in new plants.
