An excellent tradition of Christmas cruises

Copenhagen will be in Christmas mood when this year’s cruises arrive at CMP in December

CMP has a tradition of receiving cruise visitors who want to experience the Christmas atmosphere in Copenhagen. This will also be the case this year, with two arrivals at Langelinie, ”Albatros” on 20 December and ”Aurora” on 23 December.

”Aurora” is on a 9 day cruise from Southampton, which, besides Copenhagen, includes Oslo, Gothenburg, Amsterdam and Brussels. ”Albatros” will call in as part of a 5 day cruise from Hamburg, which also includes Kiel and Wismar. It is usually English ships and visitors that visit at Christmas time, however, the ”Albatros” represents the first time for a German ship with German visitors who would like to experience Christmas in Copenhagen.

”Christmas is about traditions, and our arrivals during the Christmas holidays are one of the traditions we cherish at CMP. It gives us the opportunity to display a different side of the port and the city than that of the high season, and our collaborative partners in Copenhagen Cruise Network always ensure there is a good atmosphere,” says Arnt Møller Pedersen, COO Cruise & Ferries, CMP.

Father Christmas greets the ships when they arrive at the quays, and a band plays Christmas carols to generate an atmosphere before the visitors go into Copenhagen to visit Tivoli’s Christmas market and shop in the streets that are embellished with Christmas decorations.
