2015 last call – 2016 First calls

CMP is an integrated part of the International Trade. And the International Trade operates year round.  All days during year. Some days are holy days – National Holydays, trade however is International and the Transport sector is International and live up to customer needs and requirements. Transport cross National boarders, some transport from countries nearby – Europe, others are between the different continents. . From one part of the world to the other. Some vessels are large, some are smaller.

As CMP is an integrated part of these transports we must be available when needed. The calls that ended the year and started the New Year was fine representatives.

Open year round

Our Port and the Terminals are ready 24, 7, 365 Days year round.  This New Year was no different. Last ship 2015 was “Free Ocean” arriving at Swede Harbor, Free Ocean docked on December 31st at 20 00 and was an representative of International European transports. Free Oceans arrived from Dundee and after Operations she departs for Londonderry.

Few hours later the vessels started arriving. A large number of vessels arriving from Travemünde, Vysotosk, Nagoya, Zeebrügge, Oslo, Riga and Montreal. World round from Far East to West. Large and smaller vessels – Malmö and Copenhagen. CMP is as always ready for giving service to customers also on New Year eve.

One of these vessels was ”Prisco Alena” also representing the Years change in seasons. Prisco Alena arrived from Canada carrying a load of cargo. Diesel for the winter season. Our whether is not as extreme as the winter in Canada, but they have the expertise with winter season an the challenges this represent for the fuel for the cars.

Oh yes such a New Year’s eve, an active Port meeting the world and its challenges.

On Monday, Minister for Transport Benny Engelbrecht visited the Port of Copenhagen for a meeting with Danish Ports and Copenhagen Malmö Port (CMP). The main topics for discussion were the Danish Ports Act and the green transition, and the Minister was also given a tour of the port.

Now that the cruise season can be summarised, it can be revealed that CMP is continuing to break records. This year’s contender is Visby, where the number of arrivals increased by 40 per cent. At the same time, Copenhagen is consolidating its position as Northern Europe’s major destination.

Copenhagen Malmö Port (CMP) and DFDS have reached an agreement to establish a shore power facility in Copenhagen, which means that the Crown Seaways and Pearl Seaways vessels will be able to receive electricity from land. Shore power facility reduce emissions of air contaminated particles such as NOx, SOx and particulate matter, which goes hand in hand with the ambitions of both CMP and DFDS to actively contribute to a greener Copenhagen.
