Mein Schiff 4 to visit CMP on two test cruises prior to its maiden voyage

Early delivery from the Meyer Turku shipyard means that Mein Schiff 4 has time for two test cruise, both of which call at Copenhagen.

CMP will be the first port of call for the brand new liner Mein Schiff 4 when it visits Copenhagen en route from Hamburg to Kiel.

The ship was built at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, and as it was delivered early, the shipping line TUI has scheduled a test cruise prior to the actual maiden voyage, which departs from Kiel on 5 June and where the ship will also be christened. Mein Schiff 4 is 295 m long and 97,000 GRT. It will have a crew of 1,000 and the 1,250 cabins will accommodate 2,500 guests.

”TUI Cruises arranges cruises for the German-speaking market, and our four ships are equipped for relaxation and comfort from stem to stern. Our concept is a holiday resort on water, and we focus on couples and families, who value freedom, generosity, quality and individual service”, says Torben Knye, Communications Manager, TUI Cruises.

Mein Schiff 4 is a sister ship to Mein Schiff 3, with some simple alterations. These include a change in concept for some of the 11 restaurants, SPA & Sport designed with Scandinavian flair, and a sauna of 45 m2, one of the largest on a cruise vessel.

The Hamburg-Copenhagen-Kiel test cruise will take place 22 – 25 May. TUI has invited a number of selected individuals who have been on cruises with the shipping line in 2013 and 2014, but apart from that, anybody who has been on at least two cruises with TUI can book a place on the ship. The shipping company will utilize the voyage via Copenhagen to gather comments and feedback from passengers about the new ship.

Mein Schiff 4 will head out on yet another test cruise from 26 to 31 May with the programme Kiel-Copenhagen-Göteborg-Oslo-Hamburg. On this occasion everybody will be able to book. After this, Mein Schiff 4 will start the season’s scheduled cruises, beginning with the christening in Kiel on 5 June.
