CMP and SCA Logistics have signed a partnership agreement. It makes Malmö a new hub in the hygiene and forestry industry company’s transport network. The goods arrive by ship at CMP, where they are transhipped and sent on to customers in the region.

In 2016 Copenhagen Malmö Port expects growth of 9% in the number of cruise visitors to Copenhagen, and at the end of June a record will be set for the number of visitors on one single day. Next year will beat all records with 850,000 cruise visitors. The cruise business as a whole contributes around DKK 1.3 billion to the Danish capital’s economy.

Work started today on the cruise quay in Visby, which will be completed in spring 2018. Region Gotland and Copenhagen Malmö Port, CMP, will together contribute to developing cruise tourism in the Baltic in general and on Gotland in particular.

Norwegian Cruise Line will be deploying their even bigger cruise ship “Norwegian Getaway” on their cruises in 2017, with Copenhagen as the starting point of their trips to the Baltic and to the Norwegian fjords. The ship can accommodate almost 4,000 guests, which is 1,000 more than its predecessor “Norwegian Star”, which has been used in recent seasons.
