Straddle carriers
During autumn 2025 it will be operational – Copenhagen’s new container terminal. This will be a state-ofthe-art facility where the key words are sustainable and efficient handling. The benefits for the region are clear, as CMP’s terminal ensures the secure flow of goods to the whole of Zealand.
The new straddle carriers can lift containers 1-over-3, unlike the ones currently used at the existing terminal, which lift 1-over-2. This means that more containers can be stored in the same space.

Five of CMP’s eight new Konecranes straddle carriers have been relocated to their new home – the new container terminal at Ydre Nordhavn.
With a weight of 70 tons and a height of 15.7 meters, the move required careful planning, precise coordination, and the expertise of a dedicated team.
